Dr. Ward joined the Navy in 1999. After receiving his B.S. in Biology from Shippensburg University in 2008 he attended Penn State, graduating with his M.D. in 2012. He completed his internal medicine internship and anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After residency, he practiced at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, followed by a fellowship in transfusion medicine at the University of Florida, Jacksonville. He returned to Naval Medical Center San Diego following fellowship, retiring from the Navy after 24 years, and joining San Diego Pathology in 2024.
